  1. Thanks,Colin. I just love to see behind the camera and what a set looks like,where the camera is, all the business that goes on to film a scene.
    Some of the photos are obviously posed but others aren’t.
    One of the best scenes for me is in That’s Entertainment 3 when we are shown how Eleanor Powell’s number ‘Fascinating Rhythm’ is filmed. Fascinating.

  2. I particularly like shots where we get to see the directors at work. This is especially true of the studio pros of the classic era, where we know their work but the names are often just that – names at the end of the credits. It’s interesting to see what some of these guys actually looked like.

  3. As you say, the directors are very rarely seen. And the cinematographers. I can recognise Raoul Walsh ( the patch) or Ford or Hawks in pictures .
    I had no idea what Robert Siodmak looked like – quite different from what I expected!
