Fascinating foreign titles for Bogart’s 1945 film,CONFLICT( a film Bogart didn’t want to make). None seem to relate much to the plot. No mention of a rose!
CONFLICT has a perfectly straightforward translation in French (CONFLIT): German (KONFLIKT): Italian (CONFLITTO): and Spanish (CONFLICTO).
I guess they wanted something more colourful!
The second poster could have been a winner but for that depiction of Alexis Smith. Don’t know how they could get it so wrong when Bogart and Greenstreet are so well painted.
And in case anybody thinks I can speak 4 European languages, Google Translate does all the work.
