I wonder what’s for lunch.
Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre in the 1946 Victorian thriller, THE VERDICT, the first film Don Siegel directed , and a great whodunnit.
Don Siegel said of them, “…Those two people from opposite worlds and with the opposite approach to their work, would make poetry together.”

Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet

THE VERDICT. (“Death Comes from Scotland Yard.”)
I love Lorre and Greenstreet’s films, especially The Mask of Dimitrios, and this is among the better ones.
It has just struck me that Zachary Scott in Mask of Dimitrios joins the short list of actors who had a starring role in their first film.
They did make a great team.
Thanks. What ripe richness of character! Regards Thom.
A great duo. Thanks,Thom.
Aren’t they the cutest things?

I’m not sure that this is a description that would ever have crossed my mind. 🙂
Love that description!
Great pix! The movie’s pretty damn’ fine too.
Definitely a film where you shouldn’t ever reveal the ending.
