Sorry the type is small.
I’m trying to figure out how many directors I would have been able to put a name too aside from Hitchcock. Maybe Garson Kanin in this group.
Hitch is featured in the April and May pictures, just a slightly different shot of him.
Better identification in this group – Fleming, Disney and Curtiz.Plus Hitch.
Hunt Stromberg is the odd man out. Every other person featured is a director. Didn’t they have a picture of William Wellman.
Couldn’t have identified any of those directors.
Edward Dmytryk, a young looking 34 when he made Hitler’s Children.
I recognised Mervyn LeRoy.
Didn’t recognise any in this group.
That’s a young looking Hitch for 1946.
Trust Mr. Selznick to claim credit . I doubt Mr. Hitchcock would have liked that phrase, “a Selznick director “.
Interesting to see that Michael Curtiz has set up his own production company. I don’t recognise any of the titles he had in preparation.
Wonder how long he had Doris Day under contract.
Anyone know Rita Colton?
Very, very cool stuff.
Back in January I did a post about David Butler (from the first group) and that movie, “If I Had My Way”.
I haven’t seen If I Had My Way. I’ll check out your review. Thanks.
Whoa! There were very few that I recognized. I think I have some homework to do…
Hitchcock seems to be the only director who sold himself as part of his films.
