That’s BARBARA STANWYCK as Dixie Daisy (real name Deborah Hoople) strutting on stage in LADY OF BURLESQUE (1943).
I’d like to think Barbara had a ball making this William Wellman murder mystery. She got to sing ( no dubbing) , bump and grind, do cartwheels, and bounce wisecracks off Iris Adrian and Michael O’Shea. And look fabulous!
It’s based on Gypsy Rose Lee’s ‘The G-String Murders’.
I can watch this film again and again and again! It’s a gem. It’s time it was rescued from public domain misery.
