One of Barbara’s film I dont know. Has anyone seen it?
Another one I have never seen,UNCHAINED(1955), with Elroy Hirsch
Two Barbara’s with Bill Williams in a TV movie THE MILLIONAIRE, in which Barbara played twins. Would love to see it.
I think I need to watch an episode of Perry Mason and be reminded of how much Barbara Hale will be missed.
.
One of those I half thought would go on forever. She enjoyed a great long career with plenty of film work but will always be Della Street first and foremost in my mind.
RIP, Ms Hale.
I expect the film work would have continued if Perry Mason hadn’t come along.
Sad news, but she reached the grand old age of 94 . . . unlike John Hurt, who’s left us at 77.
I think Hale was underestimated as an actress because of the long role in Perry Mason, and yet, if you look at the strength of the main cast in that series, you realize just how good she was.
She certainly held her own with Burr, Talman , Hopper and Collins.
Barbara was such a talented woman and a great actress, out of all her movies there are two I have never seen, Unchained made in 1955 and Desert Hell and this one I have never heard of but I bet there are a lot of her fans that have seen it. As Della Street in Perry Mason with Raymond Burr, I don’t think anyone else would have played the part better than Barbara as I believe she is what held the show together until they pulled the plug like they always do with all great shows, with every movie she starred in they were great productions as I don’t know if any were ever a flop as they always had top actors playing beside her. I could keep rambling on but I won’t. We all miss her and give our condolences to William and his family. R.I.P Barbara we all loved you so much.
Yes, she was the only Della Street. Much missed.
