Alastair Sim, Jane Wyman
You’re my father?
I guess he must be. He plays a fine accordion.

STAGE FRIGHT, Alastair Sim, Sybil Thorndike, 1950
Dame Sybil Thorndike is my mother? Oh, c’mon. My mother isn’t a dame.
Unusual casting.
I refuse to believe that is me.
This is an interesting film with some real misjudgements and also some highly enjoyable moments too, you’ve featured Sim quite prominently here and he’s got to be one of the best things about the movie. I must revisit this film some time soon.
I think Hitchcock would have liked Alastair Sim who was quite a scene stealer. I’m surprised Alastair didn’t do more Hollywood films. Though he had an extensive stage career as well as his British films.
