I would never have recognised Jean and I like her work. Anyone seen her in that terrific thriller Blueprint For Murder 1952. Talk about a nail biting ending!
Vienna, of course it is the wonderful Jean Peters. Congrates to Bob. I remember the first time I saw Jean in BROKEN LANCE(1954) back in the mid 1960’s. I’ve been a fan ever since.
Jean did come back after her divorce from Howard Hughes and did some work in television. Her first was the little seen PBS 1973 TV movie WINESBURG, OHIO with William Windom and Joseph Bottoms. In 1976 she portrayed Beatrice Heyward, Roscoe Heyward’s(Christopher Plummer) neglected wife. Accustomed to the couple’s wealthy lifestyle, Beatrice is delighted at the prospect of Roscoe advancing to the bank’s presidency in the intrigue filled TV miniseries ARTHUR HALEY’S THE MONEYCHANGERS. In 1981 she appeared in her husband Stanley L. Hough’s production of the TV miniseries PETER AND PAUL. She portrayed Priscilla a Hebrew tentmaker, who converts to Christianity. Her last acting role was in 1988 in the “Wearing of the Green” November 27 episode of MURDER SHE WROTE. Jean portrayed a famously Garboesque reclusive actress named Siobhan O’Dea.
Thanks,Walter, for the information on Jean’s subsequent career . She was married to Howard Hughes from 1957 to 1971. She’ll be remembered for PICK UP ON SOUTH STREET, ANNE OF THE INDIES and BLUEPRINT FOR MURDER (which Jim mentioned.)
Just watched Jean’s Murder She Wrote. She only has a couple of scenes but looks lovely and plays with style and Authority. Hilarious comic turn from Lucie Arnaz taking off Tyne Daly’s Cagney And Lacey character.
Jean Peters.
Right first time!

Sounds fun. Wish Jean had made more movies in the 50s.
“Lure Of The Wilderness” is on Talking Pictures TV tomorrow.
Thanks for that info.
