Lovely portraits by artist Charles Gates Sheldon (1882-1960) who had a studio at Carnegie Hall in New York.
His work included magazine covers of Hollywood stars. In the 1920s, stars would sit for him but in the 1930s his portraits would be done from black & white studio publicity shots.
Vienna, these are wonderful portraits by a very talented Charles Gates Sheldon. I could look at them all day.
Aren’t they beautiful. These artists don’t get enough credit.
