I’m very fond of Italian posters and really like that one for The Locket.I’ve a strong suspicion the dead Reckoning poster was originally an Italian design too – it’s kind of fabulous to be honest.
Some of the foreign artists do a great job. And it’s always fun to see the translations. I love the giant closeups of Bogie and Laraine.
I may have said this before but Anselmo Ballester was a genius when it came to movie art and it’s worth googling his work.
Actually, that one for The Locket is Spanish, isn’t it? My bad.
Yes. That one is Spanish.
I just watched The Locket again recently. What a great film with a terrific performance by Laraine Day. Not the usual femme fatale but a sweet ordinary girl. Or so it seems at first!
Always liked Laraine. The Locket gave her a great role.
Colin, I’ve just spent the last hour googling Ballester. What an superb artist. Thanks .
Vienna, I really enjoyed admiring these wonderfully artistic movie posters that you chose to let us view and savor. I really like THE DEAD RECKONING poster.
I agree the Dead Reckoning poster is terrific.
