Alice Faye
I enjoyed re-watching Alice Faye ‘s THIS IS YOUR LIFE” on You Tube.
I first saw it when it was broadcast at Christmas 1984. It was recorded in Hollywood for the U.K. version of the show .
It was lovely to see so many of Alice’s costars and friends. Cesar Romero sang a snatch of “Weekend in Havana”; Mary Martin hummed “Hello, Alice”.
Other guests included Bob Hope, Ruby Keeler, George Murphy, Fred MacMurray, June Haver, Jane Withers; and Ginger Rogers, Don Ameche with recorded messages on film.
Alice is surprised by Eamonn Andrews.
Alice’s husband Phil Harris offered her a Kleenex when he came on, saying “You’ll need this!” But Phil was the one wiping the tears.
Alice, beautiful as ever, loved every minute.
Her two children and grandchildren shared the evening – Alice Jr. looking so much like her mother.

With Fred MacMurray and June Haver . Fred explained how he was loaned to Fox from Paramount for LITTLE OLD NEW YORK with Alice.

I’d be interested to know when the program was shown in the States.
What memories this brings back and glad to hear it’s on youtube. I saw it when first shown in London during a very dark time, and it helped take my mind off it. How I wish performers today with even a trace of her subtlety and style, were again given a real chance to shine.
It certainly brings back memories of seeing it for the first time. With so many of the stars paying tribute to Alice.
This looks like a wonderful show! I will have to watch it — thanks, Vienna!
A time when so many of the stars were still with us.
Thanks for sharing this— I knew her only from Jack Benny’s radio show until I first saw Fallen Angel (With Dana Andrews) about 10 years ago. Phil Harris was a lucky man.
Alice also had a long running radio show with her husband.
